Back on board

Good afternoon, frugalistas and newbies alike.  I have felt the call to get this blog started again - maybe actually get it off the ground this time!  Things are in a bit of a different place than when I started, but the need for practical yet effective frugal and thrifty living is more important both to me and others than ever.

I'm now a stay-at-home-mum to 2 boys - M was born last August.  It makes money tight but the payoff is definitely worth it.  I've also been on a weight loss journey which has challenged the grocery budget to its furthest limits, but I think given the rising obesity rates, it's important to talk about how to eat thriftily even on the tightest of budgets.  And I mean PRACTICAL advice, not the usual "don't buy ready meals! cook spag bol from scratch!" espoused useless advice you usually see in magazines.  This is not Good to Know ohmigosh-I-made-a-meal-for-only-£4, but honest, delicious cooking which can scratch together a delicious dinner for a family for mere pennies.

I've been dabbling in other frugal forays as well - not just in the kitchen.  Recycling and upcycling are big buzz words at the moment.  There's a thousand things I want to try and tell the world when they work!

So stay tuned, I hope this turns into something big.
