So someone recently asked me how much we spend per month on food.  Our budget is supposed to be £100/month, but we've been naughty lately and buying too much during the top-up shops and exceeding this.  I reined it in last month and hopefully the final tally (which I'll do in a bit) will be back on track!

We did our big monthly shop in Tesco last weekend and since they were OOS of some things and I also missed off some bits on my list, here's what we wound up actually buying:

Okay so the cookies were very naughty, but Finn was being a terror and we had to do something.  Also, I meant to buy cheese but they were out of the ones on offer and I'm buying passata in Aldi because Tesco don't do the value version (which is cheaper and nicer than tinned toms for a lot of things).  Also, the Snack-a-Jacks are a rare brand indulgence for Finn (I would buy store brand if they did flavoured ones!)

I just went to Aldi and the total was £5something.  I bought: bananas x 2, apples, orange, mushrooms, instant noodles x 3 (for cooking chew mein), milk & vitamins.  I love Aldi, especially when there's really good stuff in their Super 6 fruit & veg!!
